GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Process Design Engineering to lead the development and optimization of operational processes, facility designs, and technology solutions across GXO's logistics operations.

The role requires translating customer requirements into scalable designs, evaluating financial impacts, and guiding site launches with cross-functional teams. A strong background in WMS and automation is essential, with travel up to 50%.

• Strong knowledge of WMS capabilities, process design, automation integration, and logistics technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of operational processes and facility designs by translating customer requirements into scalable, efficient, and financially viable solutions.
• Conduct cross-functional process reviews with Operations, IT, and Engineering to identify gaps between physical processes, WMS capabilities, automation, and systemic solutions.
• Evaluate designs, productivity rates, profitability, cost model impacts, and key assumptions through data analysis and sensitivity analysis.
• Develop detailed process flows and technical documentation incorporating WMS and automation software architecture, system integrations, and operational workflows.
• Partner with multiple teams to develop and execute process design solutions and resolve complex implementation challenges.
• Lead gap analysis, establish quality standards, allocate resources, and ensure issues are addressed and closed.
• Provide process design and operational expertise to launch sites during site launches, peak periods, and recoveries.

As the Senior Manager, Process Design Engineering, you will lead the development and optimization of operational processes, facility designs, and technology solutions that support successful customer implementations and operational excellence across GXO's logistics operations. You will partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, IT, PMO, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Compliance to translate customer requirements into scalable process and facility designs, evaluate operational and financial impacts, and integrate WMS and automation solutions. This role requires strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions, resolve complex challenges, and support successful site launches.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Lead the development of operational processes and facility designs by translating customer requirements into scalable, efficient, and financially viable solutions
• Conduct cross-functional process reviews with Operations, IT, and Engineering to identify gaps between physical processes, WMS capabilities, automation, and systemic solutions

• Develop detailed process flows and technical documentation incorporating WMS and automation software architecture, system integrations, payload streams, automation flows, and operational workflows
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, IT, Corporate Compliance, PMO, Finance, and Legal teams to develop and execute process design solutions and resolve complex implementation challenges
• Lead gap analysis activities, establish quality standards, identify required resources, and ensure issues are appropriately assigned, addressed, and closed
• Provide process design and operational expertise to launch and local site teams during site launches, peak periods, and recovery situations

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 10-12 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, process engineering, industrial engineering, or supply chain operations
• 8-10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; 8 years with a Master's degree; or 5 years of business experience with a PhD
• 3-5 years of experience with new site implementations, operational process design, facility design, or related engineering projects
• Experience translating customer requirements into operational processes, facility designs, and scalable logistics solutions
• Strong knowledge of WMS capabilities, process design, automation integration, and logistics technology
• Experience developing process flows and technical documentation that clearly communicate operational, IT system, automation, and integration processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and technical writing skills

It'd be great if you also have:

• Lean Certification (Lean Six Sigma or equivalent)
• Experience with Blue Yonder WMS, TMS, data analytics tools, Microsoft Visio, and automation software
• Experience in industrial engineering, systems design, or process engineering
• Knowledge of FTZ, CTPAT, bonded warehousing, and international shipping operations

This job requires the ability to:

• Travel up to 50% of the time
• Work collaboratively across Operations, Engineering, IT, PMO, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Compliance teams
• Support operational teams during site launches, peak periods, and recovery situations
