Tax Senior Manager – EY Private, Cross Border Center of Excellence

As an EY Private Tax Senior Manager, focusing on cross-border tax needs of high net worth individuals and their entities, you will leverage your tax expertise across various topics and challenges. You will work with some of the world’s most successful private clients and businesses, engaging in a diverse range of projects that foster your career growth.

Your Key Responsibilities

Depending on your skills and ambitions, responsibilities may include technical planning, advising high net worth clients, coaching teams, and identifying additional service opportunities. You will build relationships with clients, understand their needs, and deliver tailored services.

Skills And Attributes For Success

• Applying rules related to controlled foreign corporations and passive foreign investment companies.
• Applying foreign tax treaties and credits.
• Preparing or advising on domestic income, transfer tax, and U.S. international informational returns.
• Experience with US federal and state tax returns for high net worth individuals, foreign assets, and cross-border compliance, including foreign reporting requirements and AI applications.
• Designing pre-immigration tax plans, trust classification, US exit planning, FIRPTA, and multi-jurisdictional inheritance planning.
• Translating complex data into client-ready insights.
• Collaborating with global teams and supporting market trends.
• Building client relationships and communicating complex issues clearly.
• Maintaining technical knowledge and understanding world affairs and financial security.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, CPA or Bar membership, and at least 8 years of experience in professional services or tax organizations.
• Deep understanding of estate and wealth planning, federal and state trust income tax.
• Strong collaboration, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Experience with automated tax systems and managing budgets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven high net worth tax planning experience.
• Experience coaching junior staff, business development, and strong analytical skills.
