Job summary

Responsibilities

• Implements operational strategies to assure company objectives in safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitability.
• Accountable for site KPIs including machine and labor efficiencies and guiding department leaders to meet scorecard objectives.
• Supports site capacity management and collaborates with other sites on scheduling to meet on-time delivery demands.
• Supports equipment feasibility studies and makes recommendations for investment; manages capital expenditure and payback expectations.
• Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to set continuous improvement initiatives for operational excellence.
• Executes the annual financial plan and monitors performance via forecasts and reports.
• Provides staffing, training, and performance management guidance for production teams with direct reports.
• Interacts with stakeholders to provide technical support and resolve order problems or complaints.
• Maintains knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications.

About The Opportunity

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in all phases of a plant operation. Typically reporting directly to plant Operations Manager, prepares operation schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality meet specifications.

Essential Job Functions

• Implements operational strategies to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitability
• Accountable for assigned site’s key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies and provides guidance to departmental leaders to ensure scorecard objectives are met
• Supports site leader in managing capacity and participates in collaboration with other sites on scheduling optimization to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery demands
• Supports equipment feasibility studies and makes recommendations for investment; implements capital expenditure project and is accountable for payback expectations
• Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to set continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
• Executes the annual financial plan and monitors performance through forecasting and/or other company reports
• Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the salaried and hourly production team, working closely with direct reports
• Interacts with key stakeholders to provide technical support, explore new business opportunities, and/or resolve order problems or complaints
• Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site
• Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements and management of a manufacturing facility
• Knowledge of the physical environment and full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure
• Knowledge of the tools and techniques for preventing and addressing theft of assets, theft of information, vandalism, sabotage and other threats to a manufacturing facility
• Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing, including its safe usage, maintenance and storage
• Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processes

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting with time also spent in an office setting
• Frequent walking and standing required
• Occasional travel required
• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
