Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and management of a high-performing data science team.
  • Implement and manage an agile work process with sprint planning, SLA adherence, prioritization, and documentation.
  • Contribute technically to analytics solutions, including architecture, code development, and deployment.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance analytics capabilities and ensure scalability and value.
  • Recommend new technologies with ROI to PDS Analytics LT.
  • Develop metrics to measure value of work output for resource deployment.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure data availability in the Enterprise Data Lake.
  • Collaborate with USA and Europe PDS Analytics Team members to deliver the work.
  • Interact with PDS stakeholders to solve problems in an agile manner.
  • Identify automation opportunities and unlock value from existing solutions.
  • Recommend and implement business process transformations to improve efficiency.

Summary:

The Senior Manager - PDS Analytics Development and Demand Forecasting will lead a team of Data Scientists in the BMS Hyderabad site focused on supporting Analytics Development, Demand Forecasting and ensuring products/solutions continue to serve the most pressing PDS analytics needs, with the potential to expand to a larger team responsible for advanced analytics capabilities as well. The right candidate would drive transformation, achieving a balance of business transformation and operations . They should have a strong interest in building teams, solving business problems, and an eagerness to work on all parts of the analytics value chain, from partnering with IT on data pipelines to operationalizing predictive models in the service of our patients around the world.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and management of a high-performing, motivated team of data scientists who embody BMS values.
  • Implement and manage an agile work process for the team, overseeing sprint planning, work allocation, SLA adherence, prioritization, and documentation.
  • Contribute technically to the development and scaling of analytics solutions, including architecture, code development, pipeline management, deployment, and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance analytics capabilities, focusing on automation, adding value, and ensuring the scalability and continued effectiveness of solutions
  • Proactively make recommendations to PDS BI&T Analytics LT on new technologies with significant expected ROI
  • Develop and maintain a framework for measuring value of work output to inform resource deployment and prioritization.
  • Establish close collaboration with BMS IT teams to ensure data availability in the Enterprise Data Lake
  • Collaborate with USA and Europe based PDS Analytics Team members and LT to establish, prioritize and deliver the team's book of work.
  • Interact directly with PDS stakeholders to solve problems in an agile manner and further advance the use of analytics within PDS.
  • Readily work hours that provide sufficient overlap with standard east coast US working hours.
  • Identify automation opportunities and unlock additional value from existing solutions.
  • Recommend and implement business process transformations to enhance efficiency, establish optimal practices, ensure proper governance, and change management.
  • Recommend, prototype and deliver innovative use cases on artificial and decision intelligence platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with IT and data platform teams to ensure data pipeline availability and integration within the Enterprise Data Lake and other relevant systems.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance advanced analytics, including further automation or addition of value-added features using AI/ML, while ensuring they continue to function effectively.
  • Manage the Demand Forecasting and Planning Data Operations ensuring data availability in multiple systems like Aera, dashboards (PBI, Tableau), etc,
Skills and competencies:
  • Strong technical and project management skills to deliver solutions on time and with requisite quality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven leadership and management abilities, driving collaboration and results in dynamic environments.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to identify and address data product-related challenges and opportunities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
  • Manage technical teams and deliver data/AI/ML products on a scale.
  • Expertise in Aera platform development, configuration, and integration into operational workflows.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in an analytical, engineering, operations research or scientific discipline
  • Proven experience (7+ years) working in a data and analytics role, including direct development experience. 7+ years in Bachelor's only experience
  • 6+ role in Master's experience
  • 5+ role in PhD experience
  • Experience in working in demand forecasting or supply chain analytics is a significant plus
  • Experience with biopharma product development, manufacturing operations or quality controls a significant plus
  • Experience managing/leading team(s) a plus
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment (experience with tools like JIRA
