About the Role:

In preparation for the 25th anniversary of 9/11 next year, 9/11 Day is seeking an experienced and proven fundraising and development professional to join our growing Partnerships team at the manager or associate director level (depending on experience).

This full-time remote position requires a minimum of five years of experience in fundraising and working with national program sponsors to support their engagement. Responsibilities include managing and growing the relationships with 9/11 Day’s current sponsors and donors, and also helping to secure new sponsors to support our programs.

Candidates must enjoy and excel in a very fast-paced environment. Essential skills include preparing and delivering persuasive presentations, writing grants, developing donor correspondence, and creatively and strategically supporting sponsor program engagement.

About 9/11 Day:

9/11 Day is the nonprofit that founded and organizes the federally recognized September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Our mission is to inspire millions of Americans to rekindle the remarkable spirit of unity and compassion that emerged after 9/11, and to perform good deeds and acts of service in tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, first responders, and members of the military who bravely rose in service in response to the attacks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with sponsors, providing excellent service and communication.
  • Lead calls and meetings with current and prospective sponsors.
  • Identify and secure new sponsors by researching leads, preparing custom proposals, and leading presentations.
  • Create sponsorship materials, including one-pagers, decks, signage, and more.
  • Ensure sponsor benefits are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Oversee sponsor onboarding and facilitate volunteer registration.
  • Help complete grant applications and impact reports.
  • Track pledges and donations, generate reports, and monitor fundraising progress.
  • Work closely with internal teams to integrate sponsors into our programs and events.
  • Collect and analyze post-event feedback from sponsors and volunteers.
  • Take on additional projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising and development, with a proven track record of managing client or sponsor relationships.
  • Experience working with national program sponsors.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills embodying the spirit and ideals of 9/11 Day.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient in CRMs, spreadsheets, Slack, and other productivity tools.
  • Fully remote, flexible work environment.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 403(b) retirement plan.
  • Generous vacation and time-off policies.
  • Mobile phone and technology reimbursement.

Compensation:

Salary range: $80,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience.
