Job summary

DP World is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager in Coppell, TX, to plan, direct, and coordinate operations at the facility. You will drive performance, productivity, and efficiency through effective methods and strategies.

Responsibilities include managing daily logistics activities, coordinating with customers, enacting contingency plans, reviewing performance against targets, and leading Warehouse Managers to uphold standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints; write documents with original style; make persuasive presentations to top management and customers.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret complex technical instructions and variables.
• Proficient PC skills including email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.

• Interface with customer to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximize schedule adherence; provide input on local conditions and staffing needs.
• Enact contingency plans as needed; elevate and direct activities during system problems or disasters; identify problems and troubleshoot for process improvements.
• Review ongoing performance results to targets; take corrective measures with authorization and escalate as needed.
• Provide effective leadership to Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards and serving as a role model.
• Other duties as assigned.

About The Role

How you will contribute

• Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
• Interface with customer to ensure smooth -coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases.
• Enact contingency plans as needed; elevate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, tackle issues to local and senior staff, and participate in post-mortem analysis of issues providing input for future process improvements.
• Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, elevate as needed.
• Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documents using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
