Job summary

DP World in Coppell, TX is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to plan, direct and coordinate the facility’s operations, improving performance, productivity and efficiency through effective methods and strategies.

You will lead daily logistics activities, interface with customers for schedule adherence, implement contingency plans, and guide Warehouse Managers to uphold standards. This is part of the DP World international group with opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; provide input to top management and customers.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions.
• Proficient PC skills including email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery to the customer.
• Interface with customer to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence.
• Enact contingency plans and direct activities during system problems or disasters; identify issues for post-mortem improvements.
• Review ongoing performance to targets and take corrective measures with authorization.
• Provide effective leadership to Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Role

How you will contribute

• Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
• Interface with customer to ensure smooth -coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases.
• Enact contingency plans as needed; escape and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escape issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
• Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escape as needed
• Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documentsusing original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
