What does this role do at AHIMA?

Reporting to the Education Director Coding & Revenue Cycle Management, the Senior Manager of Education, Coding & Revenue Cycle Management supports the creation, delivery, and continuous improvement of education offerings related to coding and revenue cycle. This role is responsible for executing the annual education development plan, coordinating with contractors and internal teams, and providing operational and subject matter support to ensure high-quality learning experiences for AHIMA members and customers. This position plays a key role in aligning product development and delivery with industry needs and AHIMA's strategic goals.

What are some of the responsibilities?

  • Implement and manage the development and maintenance of courses and educational offerings in the coding and revenue cycle domains.
  • Work with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Monitor and update course content as needed to reflect evolving industry standards and learner needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in coding and revenue cycle topics, collaborating with the Education Director, product teams, marketing, and external stakeholders.
  • Support development of microcredentials, exam prep courses, and custom education products.
  • Participate in review of publications and represent the education team as needed.
  • Track progress of educational initiatives, maintain timelines, coordinate tasks across teams, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Ensure project documentation and stakeholder updates are clear and organized.
  • Assist in evaluation and refinement of processes for efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, collaborate with internal teams to support learner inquiries, and act as a resource for sales, customer support, and product questions related to coding and revenue cycle education.
  • Provide feedback and insight to improve AHIMA's educational impact.

What are the knowledge and skills requirements?

  • Bachelor's degree in health information management or related field.
  • AHIMA credential required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience in a Coding or Revenue Cycle role.
  • 2+ years of experience in education or training in a healthcare or HI setting.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office products, required.
  • Public speaking experience, required.
  • Strong project coordination and follow-through skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment with cross-functional teams.
