Tact is seeking a Security Operations leader to helm a high‑impact SOC in a remote USA role. You will own the service across a 24/7 pattern, shaping SLAs, incident outcomes, and customer value.

You bring 7+ years in security operations, 3+ years leading teams of 10–15, and hands‑on experience building agentic AI workflows in production. You’ll drive change and collaborate with engineering and threat intel to steer the security organization ahead.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security operations, incident response or detection and response.
• 3+ years managing security or technical teams (10–15 people).
• Experience leading a dispersed, 24/7 shift-based team.
• Hands-on experience building and running agentic AI workflows in production.
• Strong incident handling under pressure and partner management.

The opportunity

Most SOC leaders spend their time keeping the queue under control. This one gets to redesign how the queue works.

We're working with a VC-backed cybersecurity company that protects small and mid-sized businesses, the companies attackers love because they rarely have a security team of their own. Their 24/7 detection and response operation is the heart of the business, and they're looking for the leader who'll take it into its next chapter.

The role

You'll lead a security operations team across multiple sites and a 24/7 shift pattern, with full ownership of the service: SLAs, response quality and the outcomes customers actually receive.

The exciting bit is what comes next. You'll be the person moving the team onto agentic AI, deciding where automation does the heavy lifting, where a person stays in the loop, and what good looks like. You'll also have a real voice alongside engineering and threat intel in shaping where the wider security organisation goes.
