Senior Manager, Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) - Mac Enclosures

Description

In this highly visible role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Apple products and leave a lasting footprint. We seek an accomplished quality engineer to lead development and ramp-up for a next-generation Apple product. Our quality engineering team enables the mass production of innovative products, partnering in the development of Apple's renowned designs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate design and processes during the concept phase.
  2. Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods to meet ambitious specifications at large scale.
  3. Create and implement innovative quality inspection tools for cosmetic and dimensional assessments.
  4. Analyze data to determine appropriate process and part specifications.
  5. Coordinate quality assurance activities across teams and serve as project manager at supplier locations.
  6. Establish audit procedures to ensure consistency with Apple quality standards.
  7. Drive corrective actions collaboratively with internal and external teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and quality control.
  • 5+ years in direct people management, including senior management roles.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to supplier sites (approx. 25%).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related manufacturing engineering discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Materials, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing process quality plans, conducting supplier quality audits, and leading corrective actions and failure analysis.
  • Knowledge of mechanical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with measurement systems development and evaluation.
  • Project management skills and familiarity with problem-solving tools like design of experiments, root cause analysis, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with mechanical enclosures, castings, plastics, injection molding, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or high-volume manufacturing (e.g., automotive, consumer electronics, medical devices).
Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $190,500 to $286,400, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple offers additional benefits including stock programs, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, discounts, educational reimbursement, and potential bonuses or relocation support.
