Position Summary
Responsible for the department’s system support, developing strategic goals and objectives aligned with all relevant Novo Nordisk business plans, and providing IT system support and issue resolution 24/7. Provides leadership and coaching to staff. Manages application support, overseeing subject‑matter experts within applications used on site. Communicates IT issues, plans, and projects to site leadership. Ensures staff training and IT compliance with regulatory and Novo Nordisk requirements, and manages internal and external IT stakeholders. Oversees service support, secures IT application changes following computer system validations, and collaborates with the line of business and IT organization. Establishes processes and SLAs, drives improvement projects, and collaborates globally to establish standards and share best practices.

Essential Functions
- Manage, lead, and coach teams of subject‑matter experts to ensure a high‑performing collaborative team environment.
- Provide continuous feedback, structure, accountability, and best‑practice implementation through LEAN management to improve team performance.
- Maximize value of IT staff through training, development, coaching, performance management, recruitment, and employee relations.
- Create, develop, define, and implement dynamic key performance indicators (KPIs) for areas of responsibility.
- Drive technical discussions, problem solving, and compliance discussions.
- Actively involve, manage, communicate with, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels across the organization and in Denmark.
- Serve as a mentor for colleagues with less experience, providing guidance and support.
- Develop strategic direction for site IT assets, monitor industry advances, and recommend and implement new technologies that meet customers’ needs and production goals.
- Ensure stability for customers to maintain current production requirements and to meet future growth and capacity needs.
- Secure seamless collaboration across IT teams with focus on the outcome.
- Provide stability for IT applications, securing a stable and ready‑to‑scale IT landscape that supports increasing volumes and drives technical discussions and accountability.
- Establish effective problem‑solving, 24/7 support, and management escalation.
- Ensure IT systems and processes are available, capable, and accessible to meet production and business needs while continuously improving support models for operational excellence on the shop floor.
- Ensure the department operates in accordance with internal and external regulations and procedures (IT governance).
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties.

Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (percent may change on a case‑by‑case basis).
Development of People
Supervisory responsibilities: ensure reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP) with annual goals, interim reviews, and measurable outcomes aligned with business priorities. Manage application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and the Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field from an accredited university with a minimum of seven (7) years of IT or automation experience, preferably in a GMP manufacturing environment.
- Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field from an accredited college with ten (10) years of IT or automation experience, required, preferably in a GMP manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of three (3) years of people leadership or project management experience, including demonstrated ability to lead or direct others.
- Previous experience leading and setting up 24/7 IT support teams, project management, and/or systems life‑cycle management is preferred.
- Proven expertise in GxP documentation practices, regulatory audits, and inspections preferred.
- Proficient technical knowledge in various end‑to‑end systems and infrastructure preferred.
- Ability to understand and fully utilize complex systems and technologies to execute processes, develop, and implement IT strategies aligned with departmental objectives preferred.
- Experience overseeing and coordinating digital and IT areas, including systems, support, operations, and digital innovation preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey key messages clearly in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate employees through continuous feedback while guiding groups toward shared goals and ensuring progress and alignment.
- Strong digital acumen to drive digital transformation and innovation within the organization preferred.
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing technologies and Six Sigma methodologies, and systematic problem‑solving methodologies preferred.
- IT governance experience, including system management, business continuity, forecasting, and integration of sustainability principles into IT operations preferred.
