Role Overview

Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering leads productivity improvements by developing, planning and implementing process automation projects. The role manages a team of engineers on continuous improvement activities aimed at optimizing distribution center operations and supports manufacturing and re‑manufacturing processes in Bartlett, Tennessee. This position also drives strategic initiatives designed to enhance operational performance in distribution and manufacturing processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Industrial Engineers to conduct time studies and line‑balancing exercises to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Mentor and lead engineering teams as subject‑matter experts on process design and value‑stream mapping.
• Manage engineering resources to support 5S and shop‑floor layout planning for workplace optimization.
• Address complex issues and adapt to changing departmental plans.
• Leverage the engineering team to help operations meet operational challenges.
• Provide expertise on capacity assurance, root‑cause problem solving and process tools such as 5‑why analysis, Ishikawa, and DMAIC.
• Lead shop‑floor interactions with operations teams to identify capacity improvement opportunities and introduce process automation where needed.
• Provide technology solutions through advanced manufacturing engineering best‑practices and automation.
• Develop engineering projects, participate in the RFP process, source vendors, and manage projects to stay within budget.
• Develop and deliver executive‑level communications for project approvals, demonstrating clear ROI.
• Develop and manage the industrial engineering portfolio, a 5‑year strategic plan.
• Collaborate with Health & Safety to improve equipment safety and develop a pre‑production safety review process.
• Develop and manage budgets for capital projects related to efficiency improvements and new technology integration.
• Develop cost‑saving strategies and ensure project plans are executed within budget constraints.
• Provide clear ROI as part of the project maturity process.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience combining an industrial engineering role, operations/supply chain work, and leadership of large‑scale continuous improvement initiatives.
• 3+ years of extensive experience completing efficiency studies, data analytics, performance reporting, and project management.
• Six Sigma Black Belt preferred; Green Belt preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD 2D, and project‑management tools such as MS Project or equivalent.
• Experience with 5S & Workplace Optimization and Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) Richard Muther and Associates Method preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $130,000 – $155,000 per year. Eligible for a 20% bonus at 100% target, with the opportunity to exceed based on company performance.

Work Location
