Job description

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Manager, Impacted Sites on a permanent basis in our Health, Safety & Compliance (HSC) team. This position is a remote opportunity open to Western Canada, with a preference for Saskatoon or Regina .

Are you a seasoned environmental professional with strong technical and stakeholder management skills? In this role, you will get the opportunity to lead a team of subject matter experts and work cross-functionally on projects that have a direct impact on our vision of building sustainable communities together.

What you'll do :

  • Provide management oversight over a portfolio of environmental projects across Western Canada on behalf of the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS), managing scope, timelines, budgets, contracts, and coordination with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and regulators.
  • Collaborate and provide management oversight to a team of highly qualified environmental advisors and consulting partners by leading regular discussions on regulatory updates, remediation strategies, and more.
  • Support proactive environmental compliance through the development and oversight of environmental due diligence training and compliance auditing.
  • Collaborate and drive innovation through research initiatives into remedial technologies and sustainable environmental management solutions, ensuring delivery of cost-effective environmental solutions on time and within budget.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance, property due diligence, and emergency response coordination for FCL and local Co-ops, while maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies.

Who you'll work with :

The Team : You will lead a team of 5 Environmental Advisors and report to the Director, Compliance on a team that provides expert guidance on environmental compliance to FCL and local Co-ops.

Who you are :

You are looking for a career in environmental management and :

  • Have 10+ years of experience related to contaminated site management and environmental compliance. At least 3 years of experience in a leadership-level role would be ideal.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in science or engineering (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
