The Senior Reimbursement Program Manager will serve in a highly visible and impactful role as the ENT business’s primary reimbursement leader to support global reimbursement strategy development, new business development, evidence planning, and product launch support for legacy Interventional Pain Products and emerging Early Interventions therapies. This individual will also develop and communicate business unit and therapy-specific reimbursement strategy for the US to include all considerations for coding, coverage, and payment for both government and private payers.

In addition to US-focused work, this role will provide critical input into developing global reimbursement strategies. This individual will collaborate with local country reimbursement and market access colleagues (including the US market) to support the establishment of reimbursement in target geographies and to resolve reimbursement challenges.

This individual reports to the Director, Reimbursement and Health Economics for the ENT Business.

This role will require some travel to enhance collaboration and ensure the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide advice and counsel to cross-functional partners (Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, R&D, Clinical, Corporate, and Global reimbursement counterparts) on reimbursement considerations in the areas of global (including US) reimbursement strategy, health economics, and health policy.
  • Lead the process for developing global product-specific reimbursement strategies based on the requirements of technology assessment organizations and payers, including Medicare, NICE, etc.
  • Develop reimbursement assessments/ strategies for emerging and existing therapies, ensuring appropriate reimbursement and health economics analyses and perspectives are integrated into business plans and decision making.
  • Champion the development and maintenance of reimbursement tools to be used by reimbursement colleagues and sales partners. (coding sheets, economic models, evidence dossiers, etc.)
  • Provide updates as well as strategies to address changes in the U.S. Medicare payment system, as well as other key country healthcare reimbursement systems in relation to Interventional and Early Interventions therapies
  • Represent the Interventional Pain Therapies business at key professional society congresses.
  • Actively monitor state policy and regulatory activities that could impact patient access for Pain Therapies products.
  • Interact with retained lobbyists at the state level and influence state-based reimbursement policy and regulation via direct or contracted lobbying efforts.

Qualifications

Must-Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Have

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or commiserate knowledge and experience
  • ‘Project management experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of US payment systems and healthcare trends
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in a healthcare environment
  • Experience reviewing commercial coverage policies and Medicare payment regulations

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$164,000.00 - $246,000.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
