This is an exciting opportunity to join Deloitte as a UK Head of Internal Communications. The role offers varied challenges and a real opportunity to make a difference to the colleague experience, leading internal communications strategy and delivery across one of our four UK client-facing businesses.

The Head of Internal Communications provides strategic advice and support for business leadership, partnering with Managing Partners and other key stakeholders to plan, develop and deliver an engaging communications strategy. Reporting to the UK Associate Director, Internal Communications, the successful candidate will work closely with peers across the firm and with the wider UK Internal Communications & Engagement team. This will ensure communications channels, processes and messages are consistent with, and contribute to, firmwide communications, our UK strategy and our purpose.

This senior communications role ensures that business-level communications content and channels are effective; while at the same time delivering cohesion across strategic messaging, processes and measurement.

The successful candidate will be a proven operator with a strong track record of working in a matrixed environment, often with minimal supervision, and outstanding business partnering skills. They will quickly develop a strong understanding of the business context and operate confidently within relevant governance, risk and regulatory requirements.

This role is ideal for an experienced senior communications professional who has partnered with, and offered solutions to, leadership teams in a large, complex, matrixed organisation, alongside a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities
  • Strategy: develop and deliver an internal communications and engagement strategy, aligned with firmwide and business strategy, delivering an optimal colleague communications experience for our people
  • Advisory: advise the relevant Managing Partner, Executive or leadership team, and other senior stakeholders, on a wide range of issues including key messages, tone of voice, narrative development and channel mix
  • Adaptation: translate firmwide priorities and strategy into relevant, accessible communications for the business
  • Execution: plan, lead and deliver communications activities that help the business and its people achieve strategic goals
  • Localisation: adapt and contextualise communications according to the audience, objective and business environment
  • Team working: work closely with key stakeholders and peer groups, including our other Heads of Internal Communications, External Communications, Clients & Markets, People & Purpose, HR, and Social Impact teams, to plan, design and deliver high-impact communications with measurable outcomes
  • Listening and insight: stay close to the pulse of the business or function through strong relationships, qualitative and quantitative feedback, and measurement techniques, maintaining a clear view of what is working well and where improvements are needed
  • AI ready: using Copilot and other approved AI tools as appropriate, use AI to enhance outputs, improve productivity, and embrace responsible AI adoption
  • Leadership and network: be an active member of the firm’s wider Internal Communications community, role‑modelling collaboration and supporting the development of junior talent through coaching, knowledge‑sharing and best practice

  • Leading complex, strategic internal communications in a large organisation
  • Developing and executing internal communications strategies, channels and integrated campaigns
  • Using insight, feedback and measurement to assess communications effectiveness and improve outcomesWorking successfully across a highly matrixed organisation, managing multiple priorities and senior stakeholders
