Job summary
Abbott Diabetes Care Division in Alameda, California is seeking a Sr. Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics to lead strategic logistics programs across transportation, warehousing, distribution, and freight operations.
The role partners with Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, and external providers to achieve excellence and support growth. Up to 20% travel, domestic and international, with focus on cost optimization, network design, and service
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- 7+ years in supply chain, logistics, transportation, distribution, or program management.
- Minimum 1 year of people management.
- Strong knowledge of freight operations, distribution networks, and warehouse operations.
- Experience managing external carriers, freight providers, and 3PL partners.
- Experience with SAP, WMS, TMS and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop transportation strategies to optimize cost, service, and capacity.
- Lead domestic and international freight operations across multiple modes.
- Manage carrier sourcing, contracting, and performance management.
- Monitor freight spend and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Oversee warehouse and distribution activities for on-time fulfillment.
- Lead capacity planning, SLAs, and contingency planning.
