Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Sr. Manager, Foundations Engineering to lead platform engineering, DevOps, and reliability for Ad Platforms.

You will manage teams delivering CI/CD, Kubernetes, IaC, and cloud integrations across AWS, Azure, and GCP, while ensuring security and scalable operations. The role emphasizes operational excellence, cost discipline, observability, data infrastructure, and support for AI/machine learning platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in platform engineering, cloud, DevOps, or SRE.
• Proven people management experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong cloud infrastructure expertise; AWS required; Azure and GCP valued.
• Demonstrated reliability engineering and observability across high-availability systems.
• Familiarity with AI infrastructure and ML platform operations.
• FinOps and cloud spend management discipline.
• Strong cross‑team collaboration with AI Eng, Product Eng, Security, Data, and Finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering and DevOps capabilities powering software delivery across Ad Platforms.
• Drive automation‑first operational practices and self‑service capabilities.
• Own operational ownership for workloads on shared infrastructure.
• Enforce secure‑by‑default platform standards with Security and infra teams.
• Develop internal developer tooling and web‑based interfaces.
• Establish and operate SRE practices, incident management, and readiness standards.
• Lead observability and logging, monitoring, and tracing initiatives.
• Oversee data infrastructure operations across relational and cloud‑native systems.
• Build and operate AI inference and real‑time ML platform capabilities.
• Execute FinOps to optimize multi‑cloud spend.
• Drive deployment reliability and platform health; improve velocity.
• Lead, develop, and grow an engineering organization; hire & performance.
• Coordinate roadmap and delivery with AI Eng, Product Eng, Security, Data, and Finance.
