Job summary

Arc’teryx in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Senior Manager, Footwear Materials to lead our Materials Development team and oversee Tier 2 partnerships. You will work with Materials Designers, Footwear Developers and Engineers across Portland and Asia to shape upper materials and influence foams and rubbers.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in footwear materials, proven leadership, and experience with Centric/Plasma/PCX systems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in footwear materials (brand or vendor).
• Experience with upper materials, waterproof membranes, foams, rubber.
• Experience with materials and/or footwear innovation.
• Experience managing people and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Footwear Materials Development Team in Portland and Asia.
• Partner with Innovation and Engineering to meet performance and manufacturing standards.
• Oversee relationships with Tier 2 partners and collaborate with Tier 1 suppliers.
• Manage 2–4 direct reports with dotted-line responsibilities across Asia and Innovation.
• Represent the function in cross-functional leadership meetings and align decisions with priorities.
• Forecast material needs and coordinate with vendors to meet cost targets and timelines.
• Collaborate with Vancouver raw materials team for onboarding new vendors.
