Job summary

OpenAI is hiring a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting to help build and run a best-in-class financial reporting engine in a technically complex, rapidly evolving, and high-growth environment. This role is based in San Francisco, CA with a hybrid work model (3 days in the office per week) and relocation assistance.

You will own end-to-end GAAP financial statements and disclosures, drive audit readiness with external auditors, and partner across Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Investor

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience including 4+ in external reporting.
• Hands-on experience with financial reporting and ERP systems (Workiva, Oracle).
• Proven track record delivering GAAP financial statements and disclosures.
• Strong project management and communication skills for executives and investors.
• Active CPA license with deep technical accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Modernize reporting workflows through AI integration while ensuring audit-ready outputs.
• Own end-to-end GAAP financial statements and disclosures.
• Drive audit readiness and coordination with external auditors.
• Lead close-to-disclose tie-outs and ensure accurate schedules.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and IR.
• Translate complex accounting concepts into crisp disclosures and memos for leadership.
• Identify process improvements to increase automation and scalability.
