Job description

The worldwide data management software market is massive (According to IDC, the data management software market is forecast to be $94 billion in 2023 growing to approximately $153 billion in 2027, representing a 13% compound annual growth rate). At MongoDB we are transforming industries and empowering developers to build amazing apps that people use every day. We are the leading developer data platform and the first database provider to IPO in over 20 years. Join our team and be at the forefront of innovation and creativity.

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to help build our global Corporate FP&A team. We’re looking for a Senior Manager who will work closely with senior finance leadership and play a critical role in shaping and managing the global forecasting and planning process. You communicate clearly and are able to successfully juggle multiple priorities. You are a driven self-starter who is able to work with senior leadership comfortably, takes tasks from start to finish and someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, challenging environment. You are responsive and adapt quickly to change, embrace challenges and champion the advancement of analyses, financial planning tools, systems, and controls.

The working model for this role is flexible. We are open to fully remote or hybrid in-office/remote in our New York, Dublin, or Cork offices.

Responsibilities:
  • Planning Systems & Financial Models: You’ll build stuff. Partner with the IT, People, & Finance teams to help modernize/automate our forecasting and planning tools. We’re on a multi-year journey to improve our financial systems and you’ll play a key role in defining requirements and implementing solutions for FP&A, while improving our recent migration to the Pigment financial planning system
  • AI Automation: You’ll supercharge and standardize how we’re using AI across the FP&A team
  • Forecast Coordination & Consolidations: You’ll bring order to a fast-moving planning ecosystem. Manage the company’s planning process/calendar and corporate-level forecast consolidation. This includes owning the planning calendar, and clearly communicating timelines, deliverables, and expectations with all planning stakeholders. You’ll also own the forecast reconciliation process to have a pulse on how the business is performing
  • Management Reporting: You’ll tell stories (financial ones). Develop reporting to summarize data and facilitate decision-making for senior management including the CEO, CFO, SVP of Finance, and the Board of Directors
  • People Management: You’ll lead a team. To do all the above well, you’ll manage, mentor, and develop a small team (but high-impact) team of analysts and associates and help create/shape a world-class Corp FP&A team
  • Partner with departments across the organization to drive operational efficiencies within our cross-functional teams’ processes and systems
  • Forecast global budget items such as payroll taxes, benefits and allocations
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree; finance, business or economics preferred, MBA a plus
  • 5+ years of experience within FP&A or other finance functions
  • Expert in financial modelling, Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Pigment
  • Extremely organized with a natural bent towards making sense of mess
  • Technically competent and curious - you like learning new systems and are constantly exploring new tools and technologies; building lightweight connectivity (e.g. gsheet plug-ins) is well within your comfort zone
  • Highly articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to manage challenging stakeholders with varying incentives and needs
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Excited by problem solving and having the ability to roll-up your sleeves and work with team members to figure out answers to a wide array of questions
  • Think creatively, are highly driven, and skilled at creating structure in situations that are uncertain or ambiguous within a rapidly growing business
  • Strong project management skills. You will need to be detail oriented, love multi-tasking and have excellent follow through
  • You will be process oriented and enjoy creating process and structure where there may be ambiguity and be skilled at finding creative solutions to non-obvious problems. On any given day, you could find yourself in the operational/tactical details, followed by meetings focused on vision / strategy!
