Responsibilities

  • Lead external reporting team on drafting and filing SEC disclosures (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) with XBRL tagging.
  • Manage end-to-end financial statement filing process and approvals from auditors and senior management.
  • Detail review of quarter-end internal reports and create materials for senior management.
  • Coordinate with IR, Legal, FP&A and executives on earnings materials and analyst inquiries.
  • Lead equity accounting, including stock-based compensation per ASC 718, valuations, and forecasts.
  • Own diluted share calculations and proxy statement disclosures with Legal and Equity Administration.
  • Support non-financial SEC filings and maintain policies for non-GAAP measures.
  • Coordinate updates for FASB/SEC changes and provide training to collaborators.
  • Oversee SOX controls and month-end close processes related to equity, debt, and derivatives.
  • Manage external audit relationship to ensure deadlines and independence.

Senior Manager – External Reporting & Equity Accounting

Adobe seeks a Senior Manager of External Reporting and Equity Accounting to join our finance leadership team. This highly visible, critical role reports to the Director of External Reporting & Technical Accounting, ESG Controller and leads our SEC Reporting & Equity Accounting team.

Responsibilities

Lead the external reporting team on drafting and filing high‑quality, complete, and accurate financial statement disclosures in SEC filings (Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q and 8‑K) in compliance with regulatory requirements, including XBRL tagging.

Manage the end‑to‑end financial statement filing process and timeline, including driving review and approval from external auditors, senior management, disclosure committee, audit committee and executives.

Detail review quarter‑end internal management reports and create presentation materials to provide senior management with meaningful insights into the company’s financial results.

Coordinate with Investor Relations, Corporate Legal, FP&A and senior leaders to review earnings documents and investor materials; assist Investor Relations in responding to analyst inquiries on financial matters.

Lead the company’s equity accounting processes, including review of quarter‑end stock‑based compensation entries in accordance with ASC 718, associated valuations, flux analyses and forecasts.

Own the company’s diluted share calculations, accounting for treasury stock and equity awards acquired through business combinations; own Proxy Statement disclosures over financial and compensation‑related areas in partnership with Corporate Legal and Equity Administration.

Support non‑financial SEC filings, including debt and equity offerings, certain international statutory financial statements and other regulatory filings; manage the company’s reporting policies for non‑GAAP financial measures to ensure compliance.

Coordinate policy updates for FASB pronouncements and SEC rules, assess impact, provide educational trainings to collaborators.

Own Sarbanes‑Oxley controls and procedures associated with financial statement disclosures and equity accounting; support month‑end accounting close processes through review of journal entries and GL account reconciliations for equity, short‑term investments, debt, and derivatives and hedging.

Manage relationship with external auditors for integrated audit to ensure filing deadlines are met and monitor other services provided to ensure independence requirements.

Identify annual strategic priorities aligned with corporate priorities; develop, coach, and mentor the team to reinforce a strong team culture and support individual development goals.

Drive financial reporting and equity accounting improvements and ad‑hoc projects.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Finance/Accounting with an active CPA license.

8+ years of relevant experience, including Big 4 public accounting firm experience and a global Fortune500 company, preferably in high‑tech industry and controllership.

Deep understanding and application of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Meticulous attention to detail balanced with ability to see the bigger picture and prioritize strategically.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively across all functions and levels.

Strong analytical and problem‑resolution skills, including ability to research and simplify complex situations.

Technical accounting expertise in business combinations, treasury‑related activities, share‑based compensation and sophisticated structures.

Passion for continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Proven experience leading a team of 2+ employees; strong project management skills; ability to balance several priorities in a fast‑paced environment and drive cross‑functional initiatives.

Experience working with Workiva, Equity Edge Online, Tableau and SAP is a plus.

Expected Pay Range

U.S. Pay Range: $136,800 – $239,800 annually (California: $165,600 – $239,800).
