Job summary

The University of Denver’s Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management seeks an industry professional for the Associate Director of Event Operations and Marketing. This leadership role oversees all event planning and back-office operations, working with the events team and with internal and external clients hosting events within the school.

You will manage weekly banquet orders for hundreds of events per year, coordinate billing and reporting, and supervise student staff involved in events.

Qualifications

• Experience managing large event operations within a hospitality, corporate, or university setting.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and billing.
• Proficiency with event-management software and point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Create weekly banquet event orders for 500+ events per year by coordinating with clients to gather all event details.
• Ensure warm and clear handoff to the operations team once events are planned.
• Administer Knoeble Events financials including invoicing, billing, and revenue/expense forecasting; manage deposits.
• Ensure accurate charges and billing for all detailed events.
• Oversee technologies used by Knoebel Events and stay current with Clover POS, Banner, IBM Cognos Analytics, Caterease, DocuSign, and WebT.
