Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly experienced professional to lead CORE continuous improvement initiatives across Engineering functions. The role involves coordinating with executives, driving cross‑functional transformation, and delivering measurable value through targeted process improvements.

You will sponsor CORE projects, develop executive updates, and coach teams to accelerate business transformation within a remote-capable role in the U.S. market.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience interacting with senior leaders, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience driving transformational change, process improvement, or cost/schedule efficiency improvements.
  • Experience working with continuous improvement methods in engineering or technical environments.
  • CORE Expert‑in‑Training designation or CORE Professional certification.

  • Support CORE deployment and continuous improvement across the function and with program and functional partners.
  • Lead the Engineering Corrective Action Board (ECAB) and coordinate with engineering executives, Chief Engineers, and transformation leaders.
  • Represent Engineering on cross‑functional Corrective Action Board with Quality, Legal, Operations, and Supply Chain leaders.
  • Plan, lead, and execute CORE continuous improvement engagements for key Engineering processes.
  • Prepare and deliver executive‑level updates and performance reporting.

What You Will Do

Support operating system deployment and continuous improvement activities across the function and with our program and functional partners. Serve as CORE Focal for Chief Engineering and Product Safety, aligning goals, managing improvement targets, and driving progress across key strategic engagements. Lead the Engineering Corrective Action Board (ECAB), partnering with engineering executives, Chief Engineers, and transformation leaders. Represent Engineering on the cross-functional Corrective Action Board, alongside leaders from Quality, Legal, Operations, and Supply Chain. Oversee customer and supplier failure collection, impact analysis, prioritization, engagement sponsorship, chartering, and stakeholder/budget management. Plan, lead, and execute CORE continuous improvement engagements for key Engineering processes. Prepare and deliver clear, compelling executive‑level updates and performance reporting. Sponsor, facilitate, and coach CORE projects, diagnostics, and improvement initiatives to accelerate business transformation.

What You Will Learn

Deep proficiency in advanced CORE and continuous improvement methods, including expert‑level diagnostic and transformation tools. How to convert engineering functional expertise into process‑level improvement strategies that strengthen business priorities. How to influence complex, high‑visibility, cross‑functional initiatives involving engineering executives and enterprise leaders.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Experience interacting with senior leaders, executives, and cross‑functional stakeholders. Experience driving transformational change, process improvement, or cost/schedule efficiency improvements. Experience working with continuous improvement methods in engineering or technical environments. CORE Expert‑in‑Training designation or CORE Professional certification.

We Prefer

Demonstrated success leading large, complex initiatives at the urgency and pace required by the business. Experience strengthening internal customer relationships and influencing cross‑functional leaders. Experience training or coaching Lean or CORE methods. Background in cost reduction, EAC improvement, or synergy creation. CORE Expert or equivalent certification (R6s Expert, Six Sigma Black Belt).

Role-Type Information

This position is classified as: Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
