Job summary

The National MS Society is seeking an Assistant Director, Endurance and Community Events in Leawood, KS. This hybrid role drives revenue through Walk MS and Bike MS campaigns, overseeing logistics, participant experience, and volunteer activities.

You will translate national strategies into local plans for the Midwest Region, manage donor engagement, analyze data, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure mission-driven fundraising success.

Qualifications

• Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development support within a nonprofit or similar environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite; fundraising platforms a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, and internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor stewardship strategies, and event coordination.

Responsibilities

• Campaign Leadership & Execution: Supports planning and oversees execution, logistics, and optimization of assigned fundraising campaigns within the market.
• Revenue Accountability: Drive revenue for events; monitor financial performance and adjust strategies to hit goals.
• Strategic Adaptation & Alignment: Translate national strategies into local plans for market dynamics.
• Donor & Volunteer Engagement: Cultivate and steward mid-level fundraising teams, sponsors, and volunteer leaders.
• Performance Management & Data Analysis: Analyze data trends and donor profiles; maintain donor records and reports.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Report progress to leadership; coordinate with internal teams.
