This position continuously refines fraud strategies through data‑driven insights, testing, and performance analysis, balancing risk reduction with customer experience while establishing strong governance. Success is measured by reduced fraud losses, improved detection and response effectiveness, and increased customer trust in digital channels.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Fraud Strategy, Risk Management & Governance
    • Own and evolve the end‑to‑end e‑commerce fraud prevention strategy and roadmap across account takeover, payment fraud, first‑party abuse, and emerging fraud threats
    • Define fraud risk appetite, governance frameworks, and decisioning standards to ensure consistent, compliant, and audit‑ready fraud controls
    • Oversee fraud policies, rules, and detection logic to proactively identify and prevent fraudulent activity across the customer lifecycle
    • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, card network rules, data privacy standards, and internal compliance policies
    • Balance fraud prevention with customer experience, operational efficiency, and business impact through structured risk and cost‑benefit analysis
    • Lead and mentor a high‑performing fraud team responsible for analyzing fraud signals and translating insights into scalable controls and policies
  • Fraud Detection, Analytics & Optimization
    • Own or influence fraud detection capabilities, including decision engines, risk scoring, rules, models, and supporting technologies, including but not limited to Stripe Radar, Cybersource, etc.
    • Partner with internal teams to develop, validate, and enhance predictive fraud models and detection frameworks
    • Conduct deep‑drive analysis of fraud trends, attack patterns, and anomalies to identify root causes and emerging threats
    • Design and execute controlled experiments (e.g., A/B testing) to optimize fraud detection and minimize customer friction
    • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve detection speed, reduce manual review, and enhance decision accuracy
  • Fraud Operations & Incident Response
    • Lead fraud incident response during large‑scale attacks, including cross‑functional coordination, root cause analysis, and post‑incident remediation
    • Ensure timely containment of fraud attacks, including escalation management, decisioning oversight, and operational coordination
    • Conduct post‑incident reviews to identify root causes, control gaps, and long‑term remediation opportunities
    • Oversee high‑impact fraud cases and customer escalations, ensuring consistent, well‑documented, and defensible decisions
  • Cross‑Functional Partnership & External Collaboration
    • Partner closely with Sales, Customer Care, Business Units, Finance, IT, Security, Compliance, and Legal to strengthen fraud prevention and response capabilities
    • Collaborate with external partners such as payment processors, card networks, and financial institutions as needed to manage fraud risk
    • Align fraud strategy with broader business objectives, customer experience goals, and operational priorities
  • Performance Management & Executive Reporting
    • Define and track fraud KPIs, including fraud loss rate, chargeback rate, detection accuracy, false positives, ATO rates, and operational efficiency metrics
    • Monitor fraud performance and communicate key trends, risks, and insights to senior leadership with actionable recommendations
    • Translate complex fraud data into clear business narratives that support strategic decision‑making and prioritization
Experience & Qualifications
