Our mission is to help millions of people live longer, healthier lives by accelerating research, expanding advocacy, and increasing awareness. We foster a collaborative and innovative environment where experts work together to develop meaningful solutions that improve outcomes for patients worldwide.

Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Donor Engagement, Analytics & Strategy is a critical, cross-functional role responsible for leading the COPD Foundation's donor pipeline strategy to drive sustainable philanthropic growth. Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, this position oversees donor journey development, engagement analysis, and pipeline optimization, ensuring supporters move intentionally from initial engagement to deeper levels of giving and long-term commitment.

The COPD Foundation is committed to a data-driven philanthropy program that strengthens donor relationships and expands support for its mission. As a fully virtual national organization, the COPD Foundation relies on systems, analytics, and digital engagement to cultivate donor relationships across the entire lifecycle. Serving as the philanthropy department's lead for donor analytics, prospect intelligence, and pipeline strategy, this role will leverage donor insights and engagement data to surface opportunities to improve retention, guide cultivation and stewardship strategies, and build meaningful pathways for sustained donor involvement while providing the insights, processes, and strategic direction needed to support fundraising growth and future major and planned giving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Donor Pipeline Strategy & Management
  • Design and manage the Foundation's end-to-end donor pipeline, from first-time digital, tribute, and peer-to-peer donors through mid-level, major, and planned giving readiness.
  • Establish clear donor tiers, movement criteria, and handoff points between digital, mid-level, major, and planned giving efforts.
  • Develop and manage systematic conversion strategies for tribute donors and other one-time digital donors.
  • Build and manage a structured mid-level donor strategy, including segmentation, stewardship pathways, and upgrade modeling.
Donor Analytics, Reporting & System Insights

  • Analyze donor behavior, retention, upgrade rates, lifetime value, and pipeline velocity using RENXT data and digital engagement metrics.
  • Partner with the Stewardship and Database Manager, ensuring data integrity supports accurate analytics and reporting.
  • Provide regular, actionable insights and recommendations to the CPO to inform strategy, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Prospect Research & Qualification

  • Identify and prioritize prospects for major and planned giving cultivation in a virtual environment.
  • Develop prospect scoring, qualification, and readiness frameworks tailored to a digital-first donor base.
  • Prepare prospect briefings, summaries, and recommendations for the CPO to support cultivation and solicitation.
Digital Donor Engagement & Email Strategy
  • Analyze donor response and engagement trends across Blackbaud Luminate Online email marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with Philanthropy, Marketing and Communications teams to refine segmentation, messaging cadence, and donor journeys based on performance data.
  • Support the optimization of digital stewardship and conversion pathways for first-time, tribute, and mid-level donors.
  • Translate email and digital engagement data into pipeline movement and donor strategy insights.
Planned Giving Pipeline Support
  • Manage early-stage planned giving leads generated through digital tools (e.g., FreeWill).
  • Track, segment, and steward planned giving prospects prior to CPO engagement.
  • Monitor planned giving pipeline health, readiness indicators, and conversion trends.
Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Readiness
  • Analyze donor and participant behavior within Blackbaud TeamRaiser to inform future peer-to-peer strategy.
  • Support segmentation and conversion of peer-to-peer participants into long-term donors.
  • Prepare analytics, donor journeys, and pipeline integration to enable future scaling of peer-to-peer fundraising efforts.
Documentation & Risk Reduction
  • Document donor pipeline processes, analytics frameworks, and prospect research methodologies.
  • Ensure continuity of donor intelligence and strategy to reduce institutional and single-point-of-failure risk.
  • Support long-term scalability of the philanthropy program in a fully virtual environment.
Professional & Personal Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
