Job summary

The National Geographic Society in Washington, DC seeks a Sr. Manager of Digital Operations for the CHHC Project to lead digital asset assessment, management, and digitization strategies in collaboration with the Center for Human Histories and Cultures.

You will supervise two staff and align workflows with community wishes. You will work with archival systems (OrangeDAM), ensure responsible access, and report progress to the CHHC Project Director, while advancing best practices in digital

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience in GLAM or related institutions.
• 7+ years of progressive responsibility in digital projects.
• Experience with digital asset management and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategy for digital asset assessment and digitization workflows.
• Oversee a Digital Asset Manager and Digitization Technician to meet goals.
• Catalog assets in DAM systems and apply access restrictions per communities.
• Track progress and report roadblocks to the CHHC Project Director.
