Position Summary

The GPS (Global Product Development and Supply) Analytics team, part of BMS Business Insights and Technology (BI&T), partners with the GPS organization to answer key business questions and drive strategy using advanced data science and analytics.

The Senior Manager, Development to Launch Analytics, will be a key member of a collaborative data science and business insights team, focusing on strategic questions that influence our enterprise. Reporting to the Associate Director or Senior Director, this role involves developing advanced data analytic tools to guide decisions across drug development and product launch activities, including Product Development, Cell Therapy Development, and Manufacturing Science & Technology. The role emphasizes building and maintaining machine learning, statistical, and quantitative models, operationalizing these models, and delivering insightful business reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supporting Business Decisions
    • Collaborate with GPS senior leaders to identify and address key business questions related to CMC development, new product introduction, and operations.
    • Develop hypotheses, analyze data, and present findings to leadership.
  2. Driving Analytics and Capabilities
    • Use innovative techniques to answer business questions.
    • Develop core analytical tools, including AI, machine learning models, ETL processes, and statistical methods.
    • Build capabilities in data automation, cloud computing, and data lake integration.
    • Identify new opportunities for data and analytical tools.
    • Lead multiple projects from start to finish, establishing standards for analytics support.
  3. Driving Team Productivity and Operational Excellence
    • Promote coding best practices and standards.
    • Document development processes and assumptions.
    • Conduct reviews to ensure quality and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in business analytics, data science, engineering, finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience with machine learning, statistical models, or forecasting.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or R in production environments.
  • Knowledge of data architecture and probabilistic methods.
  • Experience with version-controlled coding in a production setting is a plus.
  • Industry experience in life sciences/pharmaceuticals is strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, lead small teams, and work across organizational lines.
