Job summary

Strava is seeking a Senior Manager, Detection & Response to own and scale security monitoring, incident response, recovery, and threat hunting across both our product surface and corporate environment. You will set strategy, drive execution, and build a hands-on team of engineers in a fast-growing security program.

This hybrid SF role reports to the CISO, coordinates with Infrastructure, Product Security, IT, and Engineering, and focuses on automating detection, improving telemetry, and

Qualifications

• Proven track record building or scaling a detection/response program.
• Experience with threat intelligence to guide detection.
• Leadership of incident command across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication to executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response and act as escalation point.
• Build and mature detection engineering across cloud, endpoint, and application layers.
• Own the security logging and telemetry pipeline.
• Shape the operating model and manage vendors/partners with measurable outcomes.
• Leverage threat intel to improve detection.
• Modernize the SOC with automation and AI for faster response.
• Manage incident playbooks, on-call, and tabletop exercises.
• Deliver executive-ready reporting on trends and program maturity.
• Build and coach a small team of detection and response engineers.
• Apply threat intelligence to proactive detection and threat hunting.
