Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Manager, Derivatives Compliance, to serve as second-in-command in the Market Regulation Department for a CFTC-registered DCM. You will shape the compliance posture, oversee examinations, and coordinate with regulators and internal teams.

Responsibilities include leading the department, addressing gaps in Part 38/39/40, and enforcing rulebooks while partnering with surveillance and policy teams. Strong regulatory writing and cross-functional leadership are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of regulatory compliance experience for CFTC-registered markets (DCMs or DCOs).
• Hands-on interpretation of CFTC Parts 38, 39, 40 in DCM/DCO settings.
• Experience engaging with senior CFTC staff across divisions.
• Deep knowledge of CFTC Core Principles and applying them to compliance programs.
• Ability to synthesize regulatory findings into written memos and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of Market Regulation as second-in-command.
• Drive compliance posture across applicable CFTC requirements and act on gaps.
• Oversee internal and external examinations and audits, coordinate responses.
• Review escalated cases with trade surveillance to assess violations and enforcement actions.
• Advise on Core Principles, regulations, and rulebooks to cross-functional teams.
