Job summary

Sud Recruiting seeks a Senior Manager of Data Engineering to drive a data-driven, healthcare-focused transformation. You will mentor a hands-on team of Data Engineers, lead Snowflake EDW design, and build scalable pipelines that empower data science, analytics, and dashboards.

You will establish CI/CD for data platforms, evaluate new data sources, and stay ahead of industry trends to evolve capabilities across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• 10+ years as a hands-on Data Engineer (ELT/ETL, pipelines).
• Excellent data modeling experience.
• Snowflake + dbt + SQL proficiency is a MUST, with healthcare familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and manage a team of Senior Data Engineers while contributing hands-on.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for Snowflake EDW, guiding architecture and governance.
• Collaborate to build enterprise-grade pipelines enabling data science and BI.
• Design and automate ELT in Snowflake, orchestrating with dbt workflows.
• Lead CI/CD for data engineering solutions and ensure robust deployment.
• Evaluate new data sources and align with business objectives for data delivery.

What Will You Do:

• Serve as a player/coach, mentoring and managing a team of skilled Senior Data Engineers while remaining hands on and leading by example
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the Snowflake Enterprise Data Warehouse, delivering strategic guidance and technical expertise across data architecture, data management, warehousing, modeling, performance tuning, governance, to ensure robust and scalable data solutions
• Collaborate with business partners and build enterprise grade data processing and transformation pipelines that enable teams across Data Science, Analytics, and Business Intelligence to apply machine learning, generate insights, and create interactive dashboards that address critical business challenges
• Design, implement, and automate ELT processes and data pipelines in Snowflake to support enterprise-scale data processing and transformation, while developing and maintaining orchestration workflows using dbt to manage execution, dependencies, and scheduling
• Design and maintain automated CI/CD workflows for data engineering solutions, enabling seamless deployment, proactive monitoring, and robust version control aligned with industry best practices
• Lead the evaluation and integration of new data sources into the EDW, assessing technical feasibility and aligning with business objectives for optimal data delivery
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, proactively recommending innovations to enhance and evolve data capabilities

• full-time MOSTLY REMOTE role w/ minimal travel to HQ

Responsibilities/Experience:

• Bachelors or Masters is required
• Must have 3+ years of people management experience
• 10+ years of experience as a hands-on Data Engineer (ELT / ETL, data pipelines)
• Excellent experience with data modeling
• Snowflake + dbt + SQL experience is a MUST
• deep understanding of Snowflake data warehousing platform
• healthcare experience is a MUST (Epic will be a plus)
