  • Lead and mentor a small team of data engineers, fostering professional growth and collaboration
  • Monitor and optimize the cost and performance of data products, cloud services, and third-party tooling
What We Think You Need To Be Successful:
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or enterprise reporting, with a strong track record of executing data strategies
  • Hands-on experience with BI and data warehouse tools, databases, and data modeling (relational, document-based, SQL, NoSQL)

  • Proficiency in programming and scripting (Python, SQL, Bash preferred) for data pipeline development and automation
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred)
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring junior data engineers and/or analysts
  • Process improvement mindset, identifying and implementing efficiencies in data workflows and infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
Keys to happiness at HappyCo:
  • Pushing forward in ambiguity while striving for clarity
  • Prioritizing for sustained impact vs helping in the moment
  • Empowering teams instead of enforcing standards
  • Leveraging technology to serve humanity in a way that is accessible
  • Being a proactive contributor to the design and research team culture, with a strong growth mindset
  • Experience and understanding of early-stage startups and challenges
  • Experience within the multifamily residential property industry
  • Previous research experience in an Enterprise B2B SaaS context where complex workflows and systems have been tackled
