Google is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Center Operations in Haskell, TX to lead a high-powered team responsible for installing, configuring, testing and maintaining server hardware and related infrastructure.

You will drive site-level operations, partner with global teams, and own outcomes with a focus on reliability, security and environmental health and safety. The role demands flexible hours and a track record of staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams responsible for hardware servers and components.
• 3 years of site-level data center operational leadership.
• 3 years developing and managing managers.
• Experience with Linux and developing network architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team, set priorities, provide performance feedback and coaching.
• Partner with teams to meet goals and manage facility activities; set long-term strategy.
• Maintain and improve security and operational procedures; analyze trends.
• Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
• Support EHS compliance programs and incident reporting.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams in charge of installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining hardware servers and its components.
• 3 years of experience in site-level data center operational leadership.
• 3 years of experience developing and managing managers.
• Experience with different operating systems (e.g., Linux) and developing network architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working in data center environments, including building and operating large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
• Experience with initiating and executing strategic initiatives in a global environment.
• Knowledge of networks and computer hardware architecture, including maintenance and repair
• Demonstrated passion for operations and people management.

US: $205000 - $286000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of individuals, set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
  
• Partner with teams to meet goals and stakeholders to manage facility activities and set/implement short- and long-term strategies.
  
• Maintain, monitor, and execute security and operational procedures and track/analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvements ensuring alignment with organizational policies.
  
• Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues.
  
• Support and contribute to the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and other compliance programs and initiatives in collaboration with other teams to ensure environmental and safety incidents are investigated, resolved, and reported.
