This is a critical leadership position that will be responsible for driving the data management agenda within Capital One’s Retail Banking division. The successful candidate will possess a deep subject matter expertise in data management practices and risk management frameworks. The ability to navigate within a complex, fast moving environment is also a must.On any given day you will be:* Driving data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of Big Data technologies and development of a program to train and enhance associate skill-sets* Creating leading-edge data products that uncover opportunities for improvement* Leading governance of our data assets, including development of a governance plan and structure* Develop and execute on data management strategy* Define and monitor KRI’s and escalate areas of non-compliance as appropriate* Oversee the design and execution of data controls* Oversee data quality monitoring and data issue management practices* Monitor the health of data catalog metadata* Manage team of high performing data professionals* Reporting on data analysis activities to partner groups, incorporating novel reporting and data visualization techniquesKey accountabilities:* Partner with various engineering and enterprise functions in adopting and informing data flow standards across ingestion, transformation, access and publishing* Driving data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of cloud native technologies* Development of a program to train and enhance associate skill sets and actively championing the usage and adoption of data tools and solutions across the entire RDB Data Analyst community* Lead the ongoing migration from an on-premise implementation to a cloud based (AWS) implementation* Strategic orientation in their ability to define roadmaps in an incremental way to support business goalsThis position will be in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams.
