Who You Are

An experienced Senior Manager, Cost Control will oversee multiple cost control teams in managing large-scale construction and infrastructure project budgets from inception to completion. This senior-level position will ensure financial discipline, effective cost control, and alignment with project and organizational objectives. The role will work closely with internal and external project teams, finance, and accounting to forecast, track, and maintain project costs, resolve disputes with vendors and cost consultants, and support financial systems. Candidates should have deep knowledge of construction contracts, change management, and financial systems, and the ability to lead teams and drive cost-effective solutions across multiple complex projects.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and mentor multiple onsite cost teams, ensuring strict adherence to cost control processes and alignment across the project management teams.
  • Oversee the creation and validation of project budgets for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects, monitoring financial performance and implementing cost savings strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with construction contract documents and oversee change management practices to maintain fairness and resolve recurring issues.
  • Analyze cash flow projections relative to project budgets and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Report to senior leadership on vendor, subcontractor, and contractor performance, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Facilitate regular communication with accounting, financing, project executives, and other stakeholders to maintain consistent application of cost management practices.
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive cost reports, including cash flow analysis and monthly financial reviews, supporting the monthly loan draw process.
  • Assess and mitigate cost-related risks, ensuring project costs remain within approved budgets and comply with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Lead internal training and mentorship initiatives to develop cost control capabilities and share best practices.
  • Manage third-party cost auditing teams and consultants to align external parties with the project’s financial objectives.
What You Will Need To Be Successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, financing, or accounting; or relevant professional experience.
  • Deep expertise in construction contract documents, change management, and budget control processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial and project management software (e.g., Workday, e-Builder, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
  • Proven ability to lead teams in providing detailed and accurate financial forecasts, tracking project costs, and managing budgets through all project lifecycle stages.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and present recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Ten or more years of experience in cost control, construction, or project management, with prior senior or leadership experience.
Nice To Have
  • Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP, CCP, or similar.
  • Experience overseeing large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Five or more years in leadership or management.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices in cost control.
