Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a senior corporate development professional to lead cross-functional due diligence, financial modeling, and M&A execution. This hybrid role combines virtual work with in-person collaboration at a TransUnion office several days a week in Chicago.

Reporting to the VP of Corporate Development, you will develop target criteria, prepare executive materials, and build market insights to inform strategic investments and partnerships.

Qualifications

Team Overview

The Global Corporate Development Team develops TransUnion's corporate development strategy and leads global mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and investment activities. The team partners with Divisional and Regional Presidents to align the corporate development agenda with business unit and regional strategies.

This role reports to the Vice President, Corporate Development.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional due diligence and integration planning for strategic initiatives and domestic and global M&A transactions.
• Lead transaction analysis, financial modeling, valuation, returns analysis, sensitivities, and selected deal components with guidance from senior team members.
• Develop Basis of Interest materials and executive-level presentations to support internal transaction reviews and approvals.
• Formulate acquisition target criteria, prioritize the target universe, and maintain the acquisition pipeline.
• Prepare corporate development reporting, including acquisition and strategic investment performance, monthly CEO updates, Board materials, and competitive analyses.
• Develop market insights through primary and secondary research to inform buy, build, partner, market-entry, and market-expansion decisions.
• Monitor industry trends, conduct market mapping and sizing, and evaluate targeted M&A and partnership opportunities, including situations with limited or ambiguous data.
• Partner with functional experts across TransUnion's business units to complete workstreams and advance strategic priorities.
• Engage senior leaders, external clients, and partners with a strong understanding of TransUnion's products, services, and business model.
• Support complex strategic programs and other priorities identified by Global Strategy and Corporate Development leadership.

Required Knowledge and Experiences

• A minimum of 3-4 years of experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, specifically McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), or Bain & Company, is required ; 5-7 years of total professional experience is preferred.
• Deep understanding of corporate strategy and M&A, supported by strong financial acumen and the ability to assess strategic and financial rationale.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and project management skills, with the ability to mobilize resources and manage complex, cross-functional work.
• Exceptional problem-solving, critical-thinking, and analytical capabilities, including the ability to structure ambiguous problems, identify root causes, prioritize actions, and develop practical solutions.
• Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions and levels of seniority and develop materials for C-suite audiences.

Required Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex financial modeling, valuation analysis, returns analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills for developing executive- and Board-level presentations.
• Strong Microsoft Word skills for producing clear, concise transaction and strategy documents.
• Proficiency with market research, industry analysis, and structured problem‑solving methods that support strategy and M&A decisions.

Pay Scale Information :

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $142,500.00 - $237,500.00 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job.
