Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a Senior Manager, Construction Engineering at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi to lead the design, engineering, and construction of Terran R test infrastructure. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and act as owner’s representative with consultants, contractors, and regulators.

Responsibilities include developing designs, budgets, and schedules, plus on-site construction management and vendor coordination. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years in aerospace or construction with field engineering and project management experience.
• Experience with design documentation, construction drawings, bid solicitations, contractor selection, construction management, field supervision, permitting, QA/QC, and safety.
• Experience in project scoping, budgeting, and scheduling at both the task and overall construction program levels.
• Experience with architectural, structural, civil, and MEPF design, construction, and operations.
• Proficiency working within 3D models using NX, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.

• Coordinate cross-functional technical teams to define architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial requirements.
• Serve as the owner’s representative with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies, while partnering internally to develop designs, budgets, and schedules.
• Manage construction documentation, RFPs, bidding and evaluations, subcontractor selection and oversight, and on-site construction management to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
• Up to 25% travel to support design, construction, testing, and operations across Relativity sites.

About the Team

The Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates Relativity’s propulsion and stage test stands. Team members are hands‑on with large‑scale, complex systems including fully integrated engines and stage assemblies, pushing hardware to the limits and directly contributing to flight readiness. The work is fast‑paced and highly operational, ideal for those with backgrounds in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, offshore operations, industrial systems, construction, or adjacent industries. You’ll work in a close‑knit, dynamic environment where collaboration between technicians, operators, and engineers is not only encouraged, but expected. As the company scales, the Stennis Test team becomes even more critical to unlocking our next phase of growth: proving out full‑stage systems and paving the way for routine, reliable flights of Terran R.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Construction Engineering to join our team at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. In this role, you will lead the development, design, engineering, and construction of Terran R test infrastructure, helping deliver next‑generation test stands and facilities. As part of the Test Infrastructure organization, you will coordinate cross‑functional technical teams to define architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial requirements. You will serve as the owner’s representative with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies, while partnering internally with Infrastructure, Test Operations, and Vehicle teams to develop project designs, budgets, and schedules. You will manage construction documentation, RFPs, bidding and evaluations, subcontractor selection and oversight, and on‑site construction management to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. This role requires strong experience in field and construction engineering, project management, and the ability to independently drive complex projects from concept through execution. Up to 25% travel is expected to support design, construction, testing, and operations across Relativity sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with development permitting, land use controls, conditional use permits, and coordination with local government agencies.

Mandatory Requirement

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on‑site work at our government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi.

Compensation: $163,000—$245,000USD (salary and equity).
