Job summary

Careermine seeks a Manager, Community Relations to lead Nevada operations' community engagement, social performance, and regional partnerships. The role oversees field teams and advises senior leaders to integrate community perspectives into decisions.

The position requires extensive experience in community relations, a track record in stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to responsible business conduct across urban and rural settings.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in community relations, external affairs, stakeholder engagement, government relations, or social performance, preferably within mining, energy, infrastructure, industrial, or natural resource sectors.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating community agreements, settlements, or significant stakeholder commitments.
• Experience owning or managing a grievance mechanism across multiple sites or operations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence operational and project decisions based on community or social risk.
• Experience working across both urban and rural environments.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle, including planning, permitting, operations, closure, and reclamation.
• Experience with social impact assessment, stakeholder management, and engagement systems.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including to remote operating locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing community relations team across urban and rural operations.
• Set engagement priorities, allocate resources based on social risk, and build leadership depth.
• Build trusted relationships with communities, local governments, business and civic leaders, educators, and other stakeholders.
• Own community engagement strategies and standards across operations, ensuring consistent, inclusive, and locally relevant engagement.
• Lead the community grievance mechanism, identify trends and systemic issues, and drive timely resolution and operational improvement.
• Ensure community relations practices reflect company commitments to responsible business conduct, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
• Identify and manage social risk across the portfolio and advise project and operational leaders early enough to influence decisions.
• Oversee social impact assessments, stakeholder research, and monitoring to inform business decisions.
• Provide clear counsel on emerging issues and escalated material risks appropriately.
• Lead social investment and community partnership strategies aligned with community priorities.
• Partner across HR, supply chain, operations, and other functions to advance local hiring, workforce development, supplier opportunities, and regional priorities.
• Measure and communicate the outcomes and impact of community investments and partnerships.
