Job summary

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Senior Manager of Community Connections to lead Tallahassee's community engagement efforts.

You will build trusted relationships with civic, nonprofit, business, education, and government leaders, turning insights into stronger journalism and partnerships. You will guide audience engagement, respond to inquiries, and coordinate forums and town halls to empower local impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, journalism, nonprofit leadership, communications, public affairs, partnership development, government relations, or related fields.
• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to understand issues, priorities, and opportunities.
• Gather, analyze, and communicate community insights to station leadership and newsroom teams.
• Partner with News to identify story opportunities and connect journalists with sources for audience engagement.
• Serve as the station's primary community liaison with civic, nonprofit, business, educational, and government organizations.
• Represent the station and foster partnerships that create long-term value and impact.
• Plan and execute forums, town halls, public-service initiatives, and other community engagement activities.
• Coordinate with News, Sales, Marketing, and leadership to strengthen audience relationships and community impact.
