Job summary

Lamb Weston in the United States seeks an experienced senior communications leader to build and execute strategic programs, lead media relations, and engage stakeholders across the business. You will shape messaging and oversee communications initiatives that align with corporate goals.

You will mentor a team, partner with leadership, and drive crisis guidance while partnering with the corporate team to promote culture and purpose.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in a communications role.
• Agency, global publicly traded company, and/or food and agriculture communications preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills; ability to simplify complex concepts.

Job description

• Build strategic relationships with internal customers to understand communication needs and create communication strategies and materials
• Ensure team members have information needed to understand their role in the company's success
• Oversee internal communication planning and execution
• Partner with the Communications team to connect team members with Lamb Weston's corporate culture and purpose
• Create channel plans, maximize engagement opportunities, and measure success
• Provide communications counsel to business partners to drive company success
• Protect and promote the company's reputation through strategic media relations
• Develop strategy and content for select social media channels
• Support issues and crisis management, including media monitoring
• Identify emerging issues, industry trends, and reputational risks
• Develop and execute executive convenings and leadership forums, including messaging, content, logistics, and stakeholder experience
• Drive continuous improvement across communications team operations
• Report to the VP of Communications and manage a team member

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, required
• 10+ years of experience in communication position, required
• Previous experience in a communications agency setting, global publicly traded company and/or food and agriculture communications experience, preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing people, preferredExperience developing and executing strategic communication programs
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skillsAbility to simplify complex concepts into readily understandable language and engaging storylines
• Prior experience pitching and placing earned media stories
• Understanding of media relations strategies and tactics
• Strong experience partnering with a variety of business stakeholders
• Ability to influence and counsel executives and cross-departmental groups
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to bring together different views, goals, and needs to find alignment and deliver business value
