Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a senior Manager, Commercial Scorecard & Risk Rating Modeling in Bridgeport, CT. You will lead the design, development, and governance of commercial PD, LGD, and EAD models, ensuring they are robust, compliant, and aligned with business needs.

You will manage a team of quantitative modelers, drive model validation, back-testing, and reporting, and collaborate with analytics and tech teams to deliver scalable risk solutions across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in management/supervisory.
• PhD or master's in mathematics, statistics, quantitative analysis or related field; or bachelor's with 12+ years experience; or 14+ years with no degree.
• Strong experience with segmentation analysis, logistic regression, decision trees, and multivariate analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of the Commercial PD and LGD framework for underwriting models.
• Develop algorithms to test performance, robustness, stability, and monitoring for regulatory compliance.
• Apply automation and ML techniques to scalable modeling across data mining, back testing, reporting and monitoring.
• Develop credit ratings for structured finance transactions with collateral, cash flow modeling, and structural assessments.
• Coordinate with Centralized Technology to integrate rating models into platforms for end-user delivery.
• Present models to committees and communicate with business lines, legal, compliance and risk committees.
• Lead and develop a team of modelers and quantitative analysts and track their analytical growth.
• Provide training to users of Rating scorecards to ensure accurate ratings.
• Remediate internal/external findings per governance standards and regulatory requirements.
