Job description

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Commercial Consulting to join our Professional consulting team in Singapore. This role plays a critical part in providing strategic leadership at the project level and is part of the senior team providing direction to the consulting team on specific projects related to the biotech, pharma, and medtech space. The role covers Japan+APAC geographies within a fast-growing team in Singapore.

You are expected to contribute to the overall success of a project by providing thought leadership to project teams, reviewing and finalizing primary and secondary research materials, guiding junior team members in their creation, and supervising the creation of final deliverables. As part of the global consulting team, you will also be expected to work closely with Partners and leaders across geographies to support business development and project delivery.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in life sciences, with a minimum of 4 years in consulting in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry – focusing on commercial and GTM strategy, R&D portfolio evaluation, pricing and market access, and market opportunity assessments among others.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare environment across JAPAC markets with experience in leading projects in APAC markets.
  • Ability to oversee data analysis to derive insights and recommendations to answer business questions as part of the project delivery.
  • Good project management skills including internal team coordination, task assignment, and monitoring progress as part of the project delivery.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in life sciences or a relevant field such as business management.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Fluency in Mandarin is preferred – especially for communicating with clients in mainland China.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Lead and mentor a team of consultants and first-line managers, providing guidance on their daily activities and supporting their professional development to enhance team performance and expertise.
  • Oversee large and complex customer engagements, directing multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple projects and workstreams to ensure high-quality deliverables and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage concurrent customer engagements, ensuring excellence in project execution, adherence to timelines, and fulfillment of customer expectations.
  • Drive business development initiatives by leading proposal writing, customer presentations, and strategic networking activities to expand the firm’s customer base and market presence.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning and resource allocation, aligning team efforts with the broader goals of the commercial consulting practice.
  • Develop and oversee the practice area’s analytics methodologies and best practices, ensuring they are innovative and tailored to meet complex commercial needs.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, contributing to strategic growth initiatives and exploring avenues for upselling and cross-selling consulting services.
  • Mentor and coach managers and consultants, promoting a culture of professional growth, excellence, and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with executive leadership to set strategic goals and priorities for the consulting practice, ensuring alignment with long-term objectives.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, enhancing the firm’s reputation and building industry connections.
  • Drive business growth and manage key customer relationships while providing strategic leadership and direction to the consulting team.
  • Ensure the effective execution of customer engagements, foster team development, and contribute to the overall strategic goals of the consulting practice.
  • Provide project management support on commercial consulting projects to deliver.
  • Conduct market access evaluation and entry strategy analysis for the APAC region.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.
