Job summary

AbbVie Data Science is seeking a senior leader to drive program delivery in the Therapeutic Area, combining people leadership with hands-on data program management. This role emphasizes IRT/RTSM expertise, vendor governance, and a strategic approach to resource delivery.

Applicants should have 8+ years in clinical data design and modeling, strong SAS/SQL skills, and deep CDASH/SDTM knowledge. The position requires excellent communication and a track record of coaching in a matrix environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science, life sciences or equivalent. Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of experience with clinical database design, data loading, and database modeling concepts or 9+ years in a similar environment.
• Demonstrated intermediate SAS and/or SQL programming skills and expert knowledge of database concepts.
• In-depth knowledge of CDASH and SDTM standards and clinical trial processes.
• Ability to influence others without direct authority; proven coaching and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technology evaluations and implementations for performance improvement and cost reduction.
• Create and sustain an environment that attracts, develops and retains talent.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and technology usage.

• Ensure performance assessments are completed; provide training, feedback and retention strategies.
• Lead talent recruitment, onboarding and cross-functional staff development.
• Manage cross-functional initiatives and strategic directions for operations.

• Manage cross functional initiatives.
• Provides strategic direction, advice and guidance to staff in relation to operations responsibilities and activities; promotes best practice; ensures objectives are successfully met.
