Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Manager, Cell Therapy Hub to support patient operations across multiple sites. The role connects treatment centers, healthcare professionals, and cross‑functional teams to ensure a seamless vein‑to‑vein patient journey.

The successful candidate will coordinate complex patient journeys, drive site readiness, and develop SOPs and materials while traveling >50% as required to support treatment sites. This is a field‑based, high‑impact role within the Cell Therapy Hub.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as a single point of contact for treatment site collaborators to improve site experience.

• Identify and resolve patient‑related issues; provide coverage across regions as needed.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Site Management, Supply Chain, Medical Affairs, IT, and other teams.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Cell Therapy Hub to join our Cell Therapy Patient Operations team supporting clinical and commercial cell therapy production across multiple sites. This field‑based role serves as a critical connection point between treatment centers, healthcare professionals, patients, and AstraZeneca cross‑functional teams, ensuring a seamless vein‑to‑vein (V2V) patient journey.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in patient coordination, provider support, and cell therapy operations while delivering an exceptional experience for treatment sites and patients. Reporting to the Senior Director, Cell Therapy Hub, this position plays a key role in advancing life‑changing cell therapy treatments through operational excellence and patient‑centered support.

As The Senior Manager, Cell Therapy Hub, You Will

• Serve as a trusted, knowledgeable single point of contact for treatment site collaborators, improving the site experience through the AstraZeneca Cell Therapy Hub.
• Independently manage all patient vein‑to‑vein workflows from patient registration through infusion within assigned geographic regions.
• Identify, raise, and resolve patient‑related issues while providing coverage support across regions as needed.
• Partner closely with cross‑functional teams including Clinical Operations, Site Management, Supply Chain, Medical Affairs, Information Technology, Commercial, and other team members to meet patient and healthcare provider needs.
• Communicate critical patient‑related information to site collaborators with empathy and professionalism while managing expectations.
• Collaborate with Regional and Territory Operations Managers to ensure site logistics, personnel readiness, and Chain of Identity (COI)/Chain of Custody (COC) access to AstraZeneca digital platforms.
• Coordinate communication and resolution of issues related to cellular starting materials, investigational medicinal products (IMPs), and associated supplies.
• Partner with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams on out‑of‑specification (OOS) communications, product recalls, and product‑related site issues.
• Develop and maintain internal and external standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and operational documentation related to the Cell Therapy Hub.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all Cell Therapy Hub systems, including Customer Portal and telephony platforms, as well as associated SOPs, work instructions, and business processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance the patient care experience.
• Maintain compliance with AstraZeneca policies, regulatory standards, and Cell Therapy Hub procedures.
• Support implementation and rollout of process improvements and operational changes across assigned treatment sites.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to patients by consistently reflecting AstraZeneca values in daily interactions and decision‑making.
• Perform other duties as assigned while maintaining adherence to applicable regulations and SOPs.
• Travel greater than 50% as required.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Nursing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience within a cell therapy program, healthcare system, or regulated healthcare environment in roles such as:
• Research Coordinator
• Nurse Coordinator
• Apheresis Nurse
• Cell Laboratory Professional
• Quality Manager
• Other patient‑focused cell therapy or oncology operational roles
• Experience managing complex patient journeys and coordinating across multiple cross‑functions
• Ability to solve site‑facing operational challenges and effectively navigate organizational complexity.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience working across multiple digital platforms and systems.
• Strong organizational and project management capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., PharmD, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Biomedical Engineering).
• Experience supporting cell and gene therapy programs.
• Experience working with critical raw material suppliers and/or contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs).
• Knowledge of oncology, immuno‑oncology, and cellular therapy treatment pathways.
• Familiarity with GMP, GCP, and regulated healthcare environments.
• Experience developing SOPs, training programs, and process improvement initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $137,937.60 - $206,906.40. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short‑term incentive bonuses, equity‑based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
