Job summary

NRG Energy in Houston seeks a Senior Manager to drive the administration and delivery of the Capital Project Portfolio, Development Project Portfolio, and the Department G&A Budget. This role emphasizes identifying issues, analyzing data, and implementing innovative solutions across project development, risk management, and execution.

You will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with engineering, construction, and finance, and strive for operational excellence and compliant project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in project controls and related fields.
• Experience leading large, complex capital or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of operational excellence, processes, systems, metrics, and continuous improvement.
• Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration across remote, office, and field environments.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Safety first: ensure partners meet standards and compliance.
• Provide project controls and support to DE&C project teams across full lifecycle.
• Manage project setup, cost/schedule tracking, forecasting, reporting, and audits.
• Develop and administer project standards, systems, and metrics for efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist with development, interconnection, permits, contracting, and financing activities including M&A.
