Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead capital and O&M projects across its fleet. You will plan, execute, and close projects, ensuring safety, regulatory, schedule, and budget alignment.

You will develop budgets, manage risks, coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and startup activities, and report status to leadership. The role may require up to 75% domestic travel within a 2–3 state region.

Qualifications

• Lead and manage capital and O&M projects across power plants.
• Develop project scope, budgets, schedules, and risk management plans.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Ensure safety, environmental, regulatory compliance.
• Communicate with site personnel, operations, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of projects from concept through startup and closeout.
• Develop and maintain relationships to support project success.
• Oversee feasibility reviews, scope definition, and execution strategies.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and variance reports.
• Support contract strategy, bid evaluations, and external resources management.
• Coordinate design, construction, outages, commissioning, and startup.
• Ensure compliance with standards and safety regulations.
• Utilize project controls and data systems for reporting to executives.
• Lead cross-functional teams and align stakeholders around objectives.
