You will negotiate long-term supplier agreements, manage complex negotiations, and work with our cross-functional restructuring team to drive financial impact and sustainable growth for portfolio companies.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of procurement experience, including leading initiatives in industrial/manufacturing/services/consulting.
• Strong sourcing and supply-chain knowledge with track record in complex negotiations and cost-improvement initiatives.
• Fluent in German and English; willingness to travel up to 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and operational sourcing of key direct/indirect materials across multiple categories.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to improve cost, supply security, and supplier diversification.

KGaA, Munich, as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and operations teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues ranging from EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million, across various industries. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Your Tasks

• Lead the strategic and operational sourcing of key direct and indirect materials, products, and services across multiple categories
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that enhance cost competitiveness, supply security, and supplier diversification
• Conduct market, cost-structure, and price analyses for key spend categories with commodity-driven or dynamic market environments
• Negotiate long-term agreements with suppliers and service providers, incorporating pricing mechanisms, volume alignment, and risk-mitigation measures
• Deliver tangible financial impact through supplier consolidation, process optimization, and improved commercial terms
• Partner closely with the Mutares cross-functional restructuring team to align decisions and ensure effective execution of procurement initiatives

Your Profile

• Degree in business, economics, engineering, supply chain, or related field
• At least 6 years of procurement experience, including leading and developing procurement initiatives in an industrial, manufacturing, services, or consulting environment
• Solid sourcing and supply-chain knowledge paired with a track record in complex contract negotiations and cost-improvement initiatives
• Analytical, hands‑on, and entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
• Business fluency in German & English & willingness to travel up to 4 days per week
