Centene Corporation is seeking a senior leader to manage a team responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex enterprise software solutions. You will collaborate across data, architecture, business analysis, and SMEs to deliver end-to-end design, development, testing, and support.

The role is remote within the United States with quarterly travel; sponsorship is not available. You will oversee large development programs, manage budgets, mentor staff, and coordinate with security

Qualificações

• Experience with Application Development, Applications Architecture, and DevOps best practices.
• Knowledge of Agile Software Development.
• Hands-on database and data governance experience; graph model databases beneficial.
• Healthcare payer/provider operations or provider data management experience preferred.

• Oversees a team of Senior Application Development Engineers on large-scale projects.
• Leads project scope, schedule, and budget with clear progress updates.
• Makes decisions based on reported progress and outcomes.
• Establishes training and career development for Application Developers.
• Oversees 3rd party Development teams and ensures vendor performance.
• Defines risk evaluation processes and participates in mitigation activities.
• Communicates with Application and Infrastructure Management during service transitions.
• Partners with Security and SRE teams to follow security and change policies.
• Leads design/development of PoC and prototype environments.
• Manages hiring/training, performance reviews, and technical guidance for Developers.
• Sets operational objectives and delegates tasks to ensure stable development activity.
• Develops staff capabilities to deepen IT and application development knowledge.
• Holds teams accountable to meet objectives and comply with policies.

Manages the team members accountable for designing, developing, and implementing complex enterprise software solutions. Collaborates closely with technical and non-technical roles such as data modelers, architects, business analysts, data stewards, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide design, technical analysis, development/configuration, testing, implementation, and support expertise representing the interest of the business across the enterprise. This is a remote position within the United States requiring quarterly business travel. Sponsorship and future sponsorship are not available for this opportunity, including employment-based visa types H-1B, L-1, O-1, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, or CPT.

• Oversees a team consisting of Senior Application Development Engineers responsible with large-scale complex Application Development projects / programs
• Accountable for leading efforts around project scope, schedule, and budget ensuring commitments and progress are monitored closely and communicated clearly.
• Makes decisions based on reported application progress and outcomes
• Establishes training and career development planning to Application Developers
• Oversees the work of 3rd party Development teams, holds 3rd party vendors accountable to our standards, policies, and performance expectations.
• Defines processes to identify and evaluate risks and participates in mitigation and control activities
• Expertly communicates with Application and Infrastructure Management operational groups during service transition
• Partners with Security and SRE teams, makes sure all security and change management policies are followed.
• Leads the design and development of proof of concept and prototype application environments
• Manages the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conduct performance / salary reviews, and provide leadership, technical guidance and coaching to Developers executing all aspects of applications development
• Establishes operational objectives and delegates tasks to team Developers to help ensure the stable operation of application development activities
• Provides expert knowledge to develop staff capabilities to strengthen understanding of application development industry, business issues and best practices; evaluate implications to IT
• Holds teams accountable to meet functional, quality, and time line objectives.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience, including prior management experience

• Experience with Application Development; Applications Architecture, DevOps industry best practices
• Knowledge of Agile Software Development
• Hands-on, technical background surrounding databases and data governance, ideally including knowledge of graph model databases
• Healthcare payer, provider operations, or provider data management experience preferred
