Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Science, Apparel, Materials Engineering, Product Development or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years directly relevant work experience.
• Experience in apparel materials, textiles, trims, or product development within the apparel industry.
• Deep knowledge of yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, finishing and trim development.
• Experience managing material development from concept through commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Drive material and trim development from concept through commercialization with vendors and partners.
• Collaborate daily with Design, Product Management, Technical Development, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams.
• Lead material testing, validation, risk assessment, and performance evaluations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the materials function.
• Translate insights into actionable material development strategies and innovations.
• Champion long-term material innovation and cross-functional alignment.
• Maintain understanding of material performance and construct, ensuring readiness.
• Identify risks early and provide recommendations throughout development.
• Improve processes to reduce lead times and raise quality and speed.
