Job description

Senior Manager, Analytics – NVA Pet Resorts

Are you a hands-on analytics leader who enjoys translating complex data into better business decisions? NVA Pet Resorts is looking for a Senior Manager, Analytics to lead our Analytics Team, strengthen business intelligence and reporting, and deliver insights that help our Finance, Operations, and Marketing teams improve performance across our pet resorts.

Who We Are

NVA Pet Resorts is part of National Veterinary Associates (NVA), one of the largest owners and operators of veterinary hospitals and pet resorts in North America. For more than 20 years, NVA Pet Resorts has provided trusted pet-care services designed to create safe, loving, and engaging experiences for pets and their families.

Across more than 150 locations, our resorts provide services including boarding, daycare, training, and grooming. Our multi-brand portfolio includes PetSuites of America, with more than 75 locations nationwide, along with a collection of established local and regional pet resort brands. NVA Pet Resorts continues to grow through acquisitions, new resort development, and same-resort growth while remaining focused on exceptional pet care, memorable customer experiences, and strong local operations.

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Analytics leads the Analytics Team for NVA Pet Resorts, owning the data, reporting, and analysis that Pet Resorts leadership, Finance, Field Operations, and Marketing use to make decisions. This includes month-end Finance reporting, Power BI reports for Operations, and analysis that informs pricing, grooming, membership, and loyalty strategies.

In this full‑time, remote role, you will report to the Vice President, Finance – Pet Resorts, lead an analyst and a Power BI developer, and partner with cross‑functional leaders to translate analytics into actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Lead and develop a team of two - an analyst and a Power BI developer - setting goals, development plans and priorities. Route and prioritize incoming analytics requests across the team, protecting capacity for discovery work against recurring demand. Coach, mentor and educate both the team and cross‑functional partners on data readiness and analytical method, building up in‑house capability as feasible.
  • Liaise with cross‑functional stakeholders - Field Operations, Business Operations & Strategy, Marketing and Finance - to understand business priorities and needs. Translate business priorities and needs into testable hypotheses, scope the work, choose the method, and work with leadership to prioritize and allocate team resources. Design and execute analyses across boarding, daycare, grooming, membership, loyalty, pricing and lead conversion, including simple‑to‑advanced models such as forecasting, price elasticity, performance ranking and cohort or retention analysis.
Business Analytics & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain the suite of KPIs by supported function; review and reassess on a recurring basis and work with leadership to incorporate them into ongoing operational processes. Synthesize findings and analytical output into actionable communications directed at senior leadership, bringing a recommendation rather than only a result.
  • Own the Pet Resorts reporting portfolio and its roadmap, setting enhancement priorities with business owners. Collaborate with end users to define reporting requirements and the warehouse views behind them, and review what gets built against the decision it is meant to serve. Move recurring manual analysis into sustainable reporting products and retire reporting that no longer earns its place.
Data Warehouse, Quality & Governance
  • Partner with the enterprise data engineering team to define the gold‑layer specifications for the Pet Resorts data warehouse, representing the line of business in how its data is modeled and migrated. Own data quality for Pet Resorts: monitor the health of sources, feeds and downstream tables, diagnose issues, and drive the engineering work needed to resolve them.
  • Represent Pet Resorts in enterprise data forums - data platform, reporting governance, data standards and in the internal leadership forums where analytics is accountable. Maintain the standards, documentation and conventions that keep the team's work repeatable, including how analytical and AI tooling is permitted to handle client and employee data.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Capabilities
  • 8-10+ years working in business intelligence, data, insights, analytics or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a team lead, with a track record of setting direction for and developing analysts or developers.
  • Bachelor's degree in a field with quantitative coursework such as statistics, business, economics, marketing, psychology, physical or life sciences.
  • Literate in fundamental statistical methodologies, with real‑life experience applying analytical output to real business solutions.
  • Ability to translate unstructured problems into actionable processes and approaches.
  • Proven ability to drive thought partnership and decision‑making with functional stakeholders and team leads; collaborates with senior leaders and proactively identifies and communicates what matters in order to drive impact.
  • Can think strategically and support the definition, management and organizational adoption of data terms, standards and protocols.
  • Self‑discipline for planning and organizing tasks, and delivering in an unstructured environment.
Tools & Technical Skills
  • SQL: Advanced and hands‑on. Able to author and performance‑tune multi‑stage T‑SQL, build and promote views and stored procedures, and read someone else's query and find the error.
  • Cloud data warehouse: Hands‑on experience with Azure Synapse or equivalent, including connectivity, authentication and query performance.
  • Power BI: Able to define requirements, review a data model, and judge whether a report is fit for the decision it serves.
  • Excel and PowerPoint: Advanced Excel, including building simple‑to‑advanced models. Strong PowerPoint.
  • Engineering workflow: Experience working in a ticketed engineering environment (Azure DevOps, Jira or equivalent), including writing a ticket an engineer can act on.
Preferred Experience
  • Python or a comparable scripting language for data work, sufficient to automate recurring analysis.
  • Multi‑unit retail, hospitality, veterinary or consumer services operations experience.
  • Experience with practice‑management or point‑of‑sale source systems, an HRIS and an ERP.
  • Experience through a data platform migration (Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar).
  • Machine‑learning driver modeling with an interpretation layer, applied to a real business decision rather than a benchmark.
  • Marketing operations adjacency: CDP or marketing automation, lead‑conversion reporting, audience build and suppression.
  • Experience using AI‑assisted or agentic development tooling in a governed environment.

Job requirements, including essential job responsibilities, key deliverables and outcomes, and success metrics, all subject to change based on business needs.

Travel: 5%
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $165,000 and is based on applicable experience.
Deadline to Apply: October 31st, 2026
